Sedentary Lifestyle
Similar to a poor posture, a sedentary lifestyle can cause cumulative damage, eventually resulting in symptoms such as middle back pain or worse. We live in an age where it’s possible to do all of your work in front of a laptop or desktop computer—as well as spend your leisure time using the same computer. The result is a day where people spend 12 hours in front of a computer screen on average. Sometimes, people are so used to such a lifestyle that they can do it with minimal movement or exercise. It might take some time for the body to start complaining, but when it does, it’s usually in the form of middle back pain.
The problems with a sedentary lifestyle don’t stop there. You are at an increased risk of heart disease and various other debilitating medical conditions as the body was not meant to stay still for several hours at a time. Fortunately, pushing for a more active lifestyle can help reverse the effects. It might take some time, but reversing the effects of a sedentary lifestyle is well worth the effort.
