Psychological Stress
It comes as no surprise that stress affects the body on a hormonal, physical, and mental level. While stress is considered a normal part of life, there comes a time when the stress becomes too much, and it starts to affect the body in negative ways. Stress can be a good thing to help keep the mind sharp and aware, but too much stress will more often than not lead to mental and physical disorders. One such potential condition is age-related macular degeneration. Those who suffer from bouts of anxiety and depression are more likely to get the eye disorder as they grow older, though genetics will still play a role.
The unfortunate thing about stress is it’s such a common part of life that people tend to resign themselves to stress. It’s not recommended that you do, however, especially if you feel it’s negatively impacting your health. Understand your stressors, acknowledge them, and look for ways to potentially overcome them. You can’t expect anyone to do that for you but yourself, as it’s a means of overcoming your limitations. Psychological stress might have plenty of negative effects, but you can turn things around with best-practice methods.
