Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating is a symptom of many conditions and not just Lyme disease. It’s important to distinguish between excessive sweating and other causes, as this can signify a more severe condition.
Not all cases of excessive sweating are related to Lyme disease, but it’s worth mentioning here because it is one of the most commonly reported symptoms by patients who have tested positive for Lyme. The most common cause of increased sweating is stress or anxiety, which causes an increase in adrenaline levels that contributes to increased perspiration.
Other causes include hot weather or temperature and medications such as antidepressants and beta-blockers (used for hypertension). Also, physical exertion like running or weight lifting and fever-related body aches & pains due to infection somewhere else in the body are included. If these causes don’t apply to anyone, then they may be experiencing sweating as a symptom of Lyme disease.
