Bone Weakness
An individual diagnosed with Lyme disease may experience some joint pain. This can be accompanied by weakness in the arms and legs, difficulty walking, and other symptoms. The infection can also spread to the spine, causing pain in the back or ribs. The bones can become infected with the bacteria and develop a condition called osteomyelitis, an infection of the bone. This can be very painful and may require surgery to remove the affected area. If this is happening, see a doctor immediately to assess the severity of the problem.
