Heart Disease
Heart disease is a prevalent cause of low testosterone. Low testosterone can also be a symptom of heart disease. If a person has any symptoms associated with low testosterone, like erectile dysfunction (ED), it may be wise to get that checked out by a doctor as soon as possible. If they are concerned about having low testosterone and want to know if getting tested is the right choice, there are several ways to determine if this could be the case.
They can ask their primary care physician for an assessment and blood work if they feel something isn’t quite right with their body or mind. For example, they may order some tests independently if they don’t think anything is wrong with their cardiovascular health.
If they are uncomfortable discussing these issues with them directly because they make things awkward for whatever reason, consider seeing someone who might be friendlier or more understanding when it comes time for diagnosis purposes (especially since ED is so hard). Before moving forward with treatment plans, there’s nothing wrong with ensuring no underlying issue is causing this problem.
