HIV/AIDS
HIV/AIDS is a virus that attacks the immune system. A person can become infected with HIV by having unprotected sex, sharing needles and syringes, being born to an infected mother, or getting an organ transplant from someone who has HIV. The infection can also be passed from mother to child during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding.
It’s important to understand that there is no cure for HIV/AIDS; however, it can be treated and managed over time with medication. Therefore, if a person has symptoms of low lymphocytes such as fever, swollen glands (lymph nodes), night sweats, or diarrhea while taking anti-retroviral therapy (ART) medications like Abacavir Sulfate tablets. Also, if they have been diagnosed with HIV, they should talk to a doctor about possible treatment options for low lymphocytes caused by this condition.
