Short-Term Memory Loss
Short-term memory loss is one of the most common symptoms of low ferritin. This may seem counterintuitive, but it makes sense when a person considers how much iron their brain needs to function correctly. A lack of iron can lead to less oxygen reaching the brain tissue and disrupt brain communication and growth.
In addition to this symptom being an indicator of low ferritin levels, it can also be treated by taking an iron supplement or eating iron-rich foods.
