Early Signs Of Liver Disease: 13 Symptoms

Tendency to Bruise Easily

The tendency to bruise easily, also known as purpura, is a possible symptom of liver problems. Many conditions and diseases, including cirrhosis, hemophilia, hepatitis, leukemia, lupus, and tuberculosis, may cause this symptom. Some of these conditions tend to affect younger people, but some affect older adults with weakened immune systems.

The cause for this symptom is the inability of your blood to clot properly. This is because the veins in your skin are somewhat fragile and become easily damaged when something heavy falls on them or even if you bump into something hard. When the damage occurs, they bleed into the surrounding tissue quickly instead of clotting the blood like they should prevent further bleeding.

Bleeding under your skin tends to be less visible than bleeding inside your body. However, for diagnosis purposes, doctors will look for other symptoms that may indicate liver diseases, such as itching sensations all over the body or pain in the abdomen or right upper quadrant of the abdomen. If you experience these symptoms, it’s important to get them checked out by your doctor as soon as possible.
