10 Symptoms Of Liver Damage (Early Warning Signs)

Bleeding

Yet another tell-tale sign of a failing liver is when injuries result in bleeding for a long time. Though injuries leading to prolonged and excessive bleeding may result from other diseases, it isn’t impossible to be a sign of liver damage. After all, the liver plays a huge role in producing some coagulation or blood clotting factors.

Bleeding activates a complex process where plasma proteins called blood clotting factors to react to seal off injuries. Some of these clotting factors are typically synthesized in the liver. Thus, the coagulation or clotting factors production is also affected when the liver is damaged. Some blood disorders, like the decreased synthesis of clotting and inhibitor factors, reduced clearance of activated factors, and quantitative and qualitative platelet defects, may even be a resulting complication of liver failure. Decreased coagulation, deficient levels of clotting factors, or even some blood clotting disorders may be caused by damaged liver resulting from either an acute or chronic liver disease.
