Diarrhea
One of the signs that the liver has sustained damage from chronic liver failure or liver failure that has been happening for many years is diarrhea. Diarrhea refers to passing looser or more frequent stools than what is typical for you. It is a common condition, and it is relatively easy to think that there isn’t more to it than a few unpleasant days of having loose bowels. However, if the diarrhea is persistent or recurring, you need to sonsult a health specialist, as chronic diarrhea has long been established as one of the many manifestations of liver cirrhosis and Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
According to a study conducted by the Gastroenterology Division of the University Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho, the mechanisms involved in hepatic-induced diarrhea result from when white blood cells (also known as T cells) or antibodies mistakenly attack the normal nervous system cells. Intestinal lymphangiectasia and infectious Aeromonas hydrophila may also cause hepatic-induced chronic diarrhea.
