Lingering Pain in Lower Back
Like pain in any other body part, left kidney pain can vary, making it easy to confuse with back pain. One of the symptoms that are most challenging to figure out is lingering pain in one’s lower back. It’s a sign of a tumor (benign) in the kidney, but lower back pain is also one of the most common symptoms of back pain. After all, the lower back is where most of the pressure on the spine occurs. It is also the typical location of a pinched nerve. With a pinched nerve, however, the symptom is a shooting pain that can go all the way to the leg.
Left kidney pain from a cyst can be different depending on the context. There will likely be a pain in the belly and the sides, just under the rib cage. The pain in the lower back will also be dull and lingering, quite different from the typical pain people associate with the lower back. It’s a good idea to get this type of pain checked as soon as possible, as it could be a growth in the kidney.
