Belly Pain, Under the Rib Cage
One symptom of left kidney pain involves belly pain located right under the rib cage. It’s not an easy symptom to diagnose, as you’ll have to check with other symptoms to ensure it’s affecting the left (or right) kidneys. You can get other types of pain with the belly or the location under the rib cage. For example, the diaphragm is there. It’s also the part of the body that seems to ache when you’re running out of breath during a jog or sprint. While it’s something else if you’re running or exercising, it’s the kind of pain you would do well to note if it occurs out of nowhere.
Belly pain is not uncommon, though the spot right under the rib cage can be indicative of something other than a stomach ache. The pain is usually dull and constant, and there are some situations where it can be sharper. That said, sharp pain often means something other than the kidneys, so it’s a good idea to pay attention to the type of pain you feel.
