Prevents Stroke and Heart Attack
Clots in the arteries may bring on both heart attacks and strokes. A heart attack occurs when a section of the heart muscle dies from a lack of oxygenated blood. Stopping the blood supply to a portion of the heart causes tissue death. A clot also causes ischemic strokes in the brain, and hemorrhagic strokes, occur when a blood artery breaks. These are the two main types of strokes.
Krill oil’s anti-clotting properties can help prevent stroke and heart attack. Individuals predisposed to bleeding might benefit from its effects. In addition, the anticoagulant action of krill oils helps treat and prevent atherosclerosis since it reduces the risk of blood clots. Atherosclerosis may cause arterial blockage and result in cardiac arrest or a stroke.
In people at risk for cardiovascular illnesses, PUFAs in krill oil may reduce the incidence of atherosclerotic lesions and the frequency of cardiac arrest. Both of these illnesses can contribute to a decrease in total mortality. The membranes and phospholipids of immune system cells rely heavily on polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). PUFAs are found in signaling molecules that are synthesized from cellular membrane phospholipids. They are also substrates for oxidized derivatives that mediate and regulate immunological and inflammatory responses.
