11 Signs To Be Aware Of: Kidney Pain Symptoms (List)

Frequent Urination

Frequent urination is described as the need to urinate more than the body normally does. According to the Urology Care Foundation, frequent urination is when the body feels the urge to urinate at least eight times within 24 hours. Several factors may affect the increase in urination, like drinking more fluids than usual or staying in a very cold room. However, several studies have linked frequent urination and urinary tract conditions. It can be an indication that something is wrong with the bladder, urethra, or kidneys.

For instance, patients with kidney pain may suffer from damaged nephrons or kidney filters. When these filters are damaged, they may flush a high amount of water down the bladder. Because of this, the bladder will fill up faster than usual, making the patient urinate more frequently.

Experts recommend seeing or consulting a doctor when frequent urinating is accompanied by back pain and fever. This may be an early warning sign that kidney pain is causing these conditions.
