Nosebleed
Nosebleed or epistaxis is a condition of losing blood from the lining tissues of the nasal cavity. It is a common condition that most people will experience once in their lifetime. A nosebleed can result from an external force and exposure to extreme temperatures. However, if it happens frequently, it usually signifies an underlying health condition, like kidney pain.
Kidney pain can cause deficiencies in coagulation factors. Coagulation is a process in which a liquid changes into a semi-liquid or gel-like form. It plays a vital role in the body’s hemostasis. People with kidney problems may experience difficulty in controlling the liquidation of blood. This condition prompts the blood to delay clotting, leading to epistaxis.
Epistaxis or nosebleed is one of kidney pain’s earliest and most common symptoms. A recent study showed that almost 90% of patients with severe kidney pain experienced nosebleeds 2-3 times a day. However, since nosebleed is a common condition and can happen because of other reasons, this symptom is often ignored by patients.
