Sores Around the Eye
An individual who has shingles may develop painful sores around their eye. These sores can last for weeks and cause redness, swelling, and pain in this area. They also cause vision loss if they spread to the cornea. Shingles sores can also be found on other parts of the face, like on the forehead, chin, cheeks, or nose.
Sores that move to the eye may cause pain around the eye and blurred vision. Shingles on their face may spread to other parts of the body. Shingles can also cause a loss of sensation in the affected area and muscle weakness.
If someone has shingles on their face, they should seek medical attention immediately. This is especially important if they lose vision in their affected eye or if the lesions spread to the cornea.
