Fever
One of the most common symptoms of internal shingles is fever. The presence of fever has been attributed to the immune system’s response to the virus, as the body works hard to fight off an infection. Sometimes, a high temperature may be accompanied by chills and fatigue.
In most cases, when an individual contracts the virus for the first time, they have no idea that this is happening. This is because there are no outward signs or symptoms until about two weeks later when it becomes evident that an outbreak is imminent.
When a person has been immunized against this disease, they will not develop any rash. However, they may experience mild flu-like symptoms such as headaches, nausea, and muscle aches that may last several days before fading away.
