Vomiting Blood
Vomiting blood is another sign of internal bleeding. Vomiting blood can be a symptom of various conditions and diseases, including excessive alcohol consumption, food poisoning, and ulcers. Internal bleeding is dire because it indicates that the body has sustained some significant injury from which anyone may not recover without immediate medical attention.
The association of vomiting with internal bleeding is so strong that the medical community has come up with a particular term for it — hematemesis. Hematemesis refers to the act of vomiting blood, which can be caused by several factors, including ulcers in a person’s stomach or esophagus, inflammation of the pancreas or duodenum, trauma to the digestive tract, and even cancer.
If a person is vomiting blood in any amount, no matter how small or large, they should immediately call 911 or visit an urgent care center directly to get help treating this condition before it becomes life-threatening.
