Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing are signs of internal bleeding. They can be caused by internal lung, abdomen, or brain bleeding.
Let’s say a person has an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). This means that a balloon-like bulge in the abdominal aorta, the main artery running through the body from the heart to the kidneys and legs, could burst at any time.
A burst AAA can be life-threatening because it would result in massive internal bleeding into the abdomen. In addition, they may experience difficulty breathing if clots block blood flow to one or multiple organs within the body cavity.
When someone experiences difficulty breathing, it’s essential to seek medical attention immediately. They should also report any symptoms of internal bleeding to a doctor.
