Clean and Sterilize the Area
Cleaning the skin before shaving is one of the most important things to prevent razor bumps and others. If the are is not washed with soap and water, it will be difficult for the razor blade to get a smooth shave without pulling or tugging at the skin.
To treat the area with ingrown hairs, clean it with soap and water. If you are not comfortable doing so, they can use a razor to remove any dead skin from the area, but this may cause further irritation, so be careful. After cleaning, apply an antibacterial cream if one is available, and allow it to stay on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes before washing off.
