15 Recommended Treatments for Ingrown Hair: List

Warm Compress

One way to treat ingrown hairs is by applying a warm compress. A hot compress will help reduce redness and swelling, making it easier for a person to see the hair causing pain or discomfort.

A hot compress is so effective because it helps relax the skin and muscle tissue, making it easier for a person to see what’s going on with their body. It also opens up their pores so that they aren’t as clogged up with dirt or oil while bringing blood flow to the area to help heal wounds.

To apply a warm compress, soak a washcloth in hot water and wring out as much excess moisture as possible. Next, place the washcloth on the skin with ingrown hairs and leave it there for 5 to 10 minutes before removing it. Anyone can also use paper towels instead of cloths if they find that more comfortable or easier to manage, but be sure to keep them clean so they don’t introduce new bacteria.
