Chamomile Tea
Chamomile is an ancient medicinal ingredient known to treat digestive diseases but can treat skin conditions such as sores when topically applied. Because of its anti-inflammatory, healing properties, and antioxidants, chamomile is an active ingredient in treating impetigo. The effectiveness of chamomile is recommended by experts since it is mild and won’t cause any harm or irritation to the skin. Chamomile is effective in treating impetigo among people with sensitive skin.
Chamomile targets symptoms of impetigo, such as redness, swelling of the blisters, and irritation. Its anti-inflammatory property cancels out the redness and swelling of the blisters, leading to lesser skin irritation. Its healing property mends all the wounds in the affected area. Its rich antioxidant content protects the affected area from further damage by accelerating the turnover of cells and tissues.
To treat impetigo, make chamomile tea and use it to wash the affected areas. A used chamomile tea bag may also be effective, provided it is cooled enough to apply directly to the sores. Some moisturizers and ointments are also incorporated with chamomile, which is also advised for topical application.
