15 Natural Remedies For Yeast Infection (At Home)

Hydrogen Peroxide

Women have used various home remedies to treat yeast infections for years. Recently, several studies have shown that hydrogen peroxide may be the most effective home remedy for yeast infections.

The first study was conducted by researchers at the University of South Carolina in 1998. The study was done on women who had recurrent yeast infections. The participants were given oral doses of hydrogen peroxide and were monitored for several months to see if the therapy could improve their symptoms. After using hydrogen peroxide, 12 of the 29 female subjects reported a complete disappearance of symptoms, while five reported mild and four had moderate improvement.

The second study was done by researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2009. The study had men with recurrent yeast infections use hydrogen peroxide to cleanse the area around their anuses before and after sex. This group also reported significant improvement in their symptoms after using this method.

This is not surprising, as doctors prescribed a solution containing 30% hydrogen peroxide several decades ago to treat yeast infections.
