Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a fatty oil extracted from the flesh of the coconut fruit. It is used in traditional medicine because of its antifungal properties. The caprylic and lauric acids found in coconut have been tested to reduce the growth of fungi like Candida. Several studies highlighted that a 100 percent coconut oil concentration was proven effective as fluconazole against thrush. In addition, the ability of coconut oil to treat thrush solved the rising problem of drug-resistant Candida species. To top it all, using coconut oil against thrush has no known adverse effect on a person.
Use organic pure coconut oil because pure it does not have a strong and repulsive smell. It can be applied directly to the infected areas. For those suffering from oral thrush, use one to two tablespoons of coconut oil as mouthwash. For vaginal infections, some experts advise the application of coconut oil in a clean tampon before using it. However, it is important to consult a doctor before doing this.
