Coconut Oil
Coconut, especially coconut oil, has recently seen a rapid rise in popularity due to claims that it offers several health advantages. Saturated fats comprise 52 to 85 percent of coconut oil, namely medium-chain fatty acids. It primarily contains capric acid, lauric acid, and octanoic acid, which are all medium-chain fatty acids.
Coconut oil is antibacterial and antifungal in addition to having anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it an excellent option for treating styes at home. It is safe to use around the eye area. Refined coconut oil is more practical for use in the kitchen; however, virgin coconut oil is preferable for skin health.
Dab coconut oil on a clean cotton swab or put it in a finger and gently wipe it over the closed eyelid. Let the oil sit for 15 minutes before washing it with warm water. This method can be conducted three to five times daily for optimum effects.
While coconut oil has been shown to have multiple benefits when applied topically, some individuals develop an allergy to it or may also worsen their stye. For instance, those with oily skin are prone to clogged pores, and coconut oil can exacerbate the inflamed eyelid.
