Neti Pot
The neti pot is a pot-like device often filled with clean saline water. It is used to clear up the nasal passageway, loosening the mucus by introducing moisture in the form of saline water. Furthermore, it also helps flush out thick mucus and allergens that may be causing the stuffy nose. The neti pot can be used whenever needed, although three times a day would be the recommended amount. There are no adverse effects of doing it frequently.
The saline solution can be created by mixing water and salt. The water used for the neti pot should be distilled or boiled since it might cause infection or the introduction of foreign parasites if untreated water is used. Another thing of note is people who recently had a fresh wound on the inside of their nose should avoid neti pot because it might worsen the condition. Moreover, people who naturally have smaller nose openings might find it uncomfortable to use a neti pot, so they should consider using other options.
