Get Some Steam In
One of the most popular remedies for snoring is steam, and there are many ways to use steam as part of a treatment plan. For example, a steam machine or vaporizer is designed to emit hot water vapor into a room at specific temperature levels for different amounts of time. For this approach to be successful, the room must be clear of any obstructions (such as curtains) and remain unoccupied.
The humidity from the steam will help loosen up your mucus membranes around the throat area and make it easier for you to breathe when you’re sleeping. Another technique involves placing a hot wet towel on your forehead or just below your nose before bed. This helps open up nasal passages and decreases swelling in the throat area, which makes breathing easier throughout the night.
The hot towel should be wrapped in a thin towel or cloth to prevent burning yourself. You can also try using a humidifier in your room at night to help clear out the mucus and make breathing easier.
