Massage
Another home remedy for sinus headaches is massage, as it eases sinus congestion by promoting drainage. The best thing about this sinus headache remedy is that it only requires a few strokes of the fingers to relieve the pain.
Anyone can do self-massage, and it only requires a few minutes of putting pressure and gently massaging specific areas of the face. The idea is to massage the four sinus areas: the frontal, maxillary, sphenoid, and ethmoid sinuses. The person performing the massage may concentrate on the sinuses experiencing congestion or massage all the sinus areas.
To massage all sinus areas, put four fingers on the temples of the head and lightly massage by doing a circular motion. If there is a tight spot, breathe and hold for several seconds before continuing the massage to the forehead and hairline.
The next step is to place an index finger and thumb on the brows near the nose while pinching down. Keep doing so for a few seconds before gradually going across the brows and ear. Then, put four fingers on the inner side of the cheekbones, just above the base of the nose. Hold down and drag the fingers outwardly gently and do it again a number of times.
