Unclench the Jaw
Unclenching the jaw is also a way to relieve sinus headaches. Since putting additional pressure on the scalp contributes to headaches, try unclenching the muscles of the jaw to reduce the pressure. Various health conditions can also result in a tight jaw, but fortunately, there are many ways to relieve the tightness and pain.
Try jaw joint stretches when a tight jaw is causing a sinus headache. It includes relaxed jaw stretch, goldfish exercise, and resistance mouth opening. Generally, it also helps to stretch the muscles of the jaw by opening the mouth, then extending the lower jaw and holding it there for 5 to 10 seconds. Afterward, try rotating the teeth in a circle while moving them side to side, forward, and back. Be conscious and make an effort to remember to unclench the jaw to lessen the pain from sinus headaches.
Aside from a tight jaw, the nerves on the head being pulled can also increase the pain of a sinus headache. So, make sure to remove the headband, hair clip, hair band, or hat that might be causing it.
