Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit seed extract, derived from grapefruit seeds, is another potent natural antifungal treatment. According to anecdotal evidence, grapefruit seed extract has been used for several purposes, including the treatment of fungal diseases. The membranes, pulp, and seeds of grapefruits are all used in the production of grapefruit seed extract. It has a lengthy history of usage as an alternative, untested treatment for various medical issues, including fungal infections.
Although there is a lack of definitive evidence supporting its use due to limited studies, anecdotal and scientific evidence suggests that this extract may help treat various fungal infections due to its chemical properties. Though capsules and tablets exist, liquid concentrates are the most common extract form. To use the extract, apply a mixture of one tablespoon of water and one to three drops of grapefruit seed extract twice or thrice a day to any skin or hair afflicted by ringworm. However, a person using grapefruit extract as ringworm treatment should always be vigilant for possible incompatibility. When an adverse reaction occurs, immediately stop using the extract and consult a physician.
