Holy Basil
Holy basil, also known as tulsi, is an herbal remedy used in India for centuries to treat various conditions. In recent years, it has gained popularity as a treatment for pneumonia due to its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulatory properties. Holy basil works by helping to fight the infection while also reducing inflammation and boosting the immune system. Additionally, holy basil has been shown to improve lung function and help clear the lungs of mucus.
There are several ways that holy basil can be used to manage the symptoms associated with pneumonia. The most common way is to take it in capsule form. Capsules containing holy basil extract are available at most health food stores. It is crucial to buy capsules containing at least 0.2 percent eugenol, as this compound is responsible for most of the holy basil’s medicinal properties. The recommended dose is two capsules three times daily until symptoms subside.
Another way to use holy basil for pneumonia treatment is to make tea using the plant’s leaves. To do this, simply steep one teaspoon of dried holy basil leaves in boiling water for 10 minutes. Once the tea has cooled, drink it three times daily until symptoms disappear.
