Breathing Techniques

The regulated flow of oxygenated blood helps the brain to function more appropriately. It is proven to eliminate discomfort and pain like dizziness, headaches, and migraines. Recent studies have claimed that controlled breathing is a safe and effective tool in fighting stress-induced nausea.
Stress-induced nausea may make a person feel out of control of himself and his surroundings. Practicing breathing techniques can make a person feel relaxed, calm, grounded, and in control. This tricks the mind into lessening the physical implications of nausea. Several breathing techniques have been proven effective in reducing nausea. One famous example is the “magic-three” breathwork. This is done by inhaling deeply through the nose for three seconds, holding the breath for another three seconds, and then exhaling through the mouth for three seconds.
For nausea caused by motion sickness, controlled breathing can also help. A well-known body hack to alleviate nausea is lowering the head near the chest while holding the breath for five seconds and then exhaling through the mouth. Experts also advise patients to get plenty of fresh air to improve their oxygen supply, lessening the implications of nausea.
