A Good Night’s Sleep
The human body depends on sleep to function correctly, even if there are studies questioning the true value of sleep. While some claim that the human body doesn’t need nearly as much sleep as it seems, it doesn’t change the fact that people can’t go more than twenty-four hours without feeling weak and lethargic due to a lack of sleep. It is no surprise that a lack of sleep also triggers a migraine, as most people who don’t get enough sleep also suffer from headaches. You should get at least seven hours of sleep a day to ensure your body is as efficient as possible. Eight hours is usually the magic number concerning sleep, but seven hours is more than enough to give the body the energy it needs.
As an imbalance often causes migraines, it is no surprise that a lack of sleep triggers a migraine trigger. If you’re having trouble getting to sleep, it’s recommended that you try to adhere to a routine — sleeping at a specific time each day. Melatonin is also recommended as it can act as a sleep aid.
