Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has been a natural remedy for decades to kill lice and their eggs. It is an essential oil from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, which absorbs into the scalp when applied directly to it. Tea tree oil can be used on adults and children with great success as it kills lice in all stages of life, even without any residual effects.
The effectiveness of tea tree oil comes from its solid insecticidal properties (also known as melaleuca oil), which kill lice and their eggs upon contact. The other ingredients in this product make it safe and easy to use. First, mix one part tea tree oil into four parts water, then apply it generously over the hair, starting at the roots down through the ends until entirely saturated. Then, massage gently using the fingertips until dry; wash with shampoo after 24 hours (preferably before bedtime).
