Vinegar
Vinegar is a natural lice repellent that has been used for generations. For a quick remedy, apply vinegar to your hair as a rinse. You can also make a homemade spray by combining equal parts vinegar and water in an empty spray bottle; spray this on dry or damp hair, focusing on the roots where lice are most likely to be found.
The smell of the vinegar will fade after several washes with shampoo. The vinegar should kill any lice on the scalp, and it will also prevent new ones from hatching. You should also treat all other people in your household with hair long enough for lice to cling to.
