Cinnamon Leaf Oil
The active ingredient in cinnamon oil is a cinnamic aldehyde, which acts as an insecticide. Cinnamic aldehyde kills lice by damaging their cell membranes and causing them to suffocate. Apply the oil topically to your child’s head, or make it into a shampoo or a hair conditioner and use it that way. The only downside is that cinnamon leaf oil may irritate sensitive skin if used in large quantities, so be sure to test for allergic reactions before applying the oil directly on your child’s scalp.
