Baking Soda
Baking soda is a pH-balanced product that doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It is safe for all hair types, including color-treated hair, and it will help dissolve the glue that holds the nits together. Mix one cup of baking soda with two cups of warm water until dissolved.
Apply this mixture to dry hair, focusing on the roots before working it down to the ends. Let sit for 20 minutes, and then wash out with a mild shampoo (such as baby shampoo). Repeat as needed until there are no longer new lice or nits popping up in the hair after combing through with a nit comb.
