Yoga
Yoga is a sophisticated practice originating in India. It was initially a spiritual activity that has gained popularity as a means of improving one’s health in all aspects. When performed properly, yoga increases blood flow to several body parts, including the knees.
The knees are among the most used body parts. Pain in the knees may be caused by inappropriate use or by natural wear and tear. There’s a connection with the lower body structure that yoga can significantly impact. Regarding knee discomfort, yoga may help by improving flexibility and strengthening the muscles that support the knee. The thigh bone, shinbone, fibula, and kneecap are the four major bones that make up the knee joint.
Four main sets of muscles work together to stabilize the knee. By targeting and strengthening the four muscle groups (quadriceps, hamstrings, and hip abductors in the inner and outer thigh), yoga for knee pain may provide substantial relief due to swollen or irritated tendons. Yoga poses for knee pain include joint warm-up, reclined hand-to-big-toe pose, low lunge, bridge pose, chair pose, and triangle pose.
