Vanilla Extract
Vanilla is a common component found in a variety of dishes. It also tops the list of dietary compounds that may provide gum pain treatment. Eugenol is an active component of vanilla extract with pain-relieving effects and addresses other dental concerns.
Additionally, vanilla extract includes alcohol, which has a numbing effect on the oral tissues. Vanilla extract may also eliminate oral bacteria and battle microorganisms that cause tooth decay. Many see the aroma of vanilla as calming and relaxing, which may help alleviate discomfort.
Apply the vanilla extract on a cotton ball and then put it on the affected area. Leave the cotton ball on the affected region for a few minutes. Reapply the extract as often as necessary to provide gum pain relief. However, too much exposure might irritate the gums.
Alternatively, apply the vanilla extract to the afflicted region with a fingertip. You can massage your gums with a bit of pressure on them, which can help relieve any pain or discomfort. Lastly, vanilla extract’s scent also has calming benefits, particularly for children.
