Fish Oil
Fish oil is a dietary supplement made from the oil of fatty species like anchovy, herring, mackerel, and tuna or the liver of other fish like cod. In addition, it is rich in vitamin D, vitamin A, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Some forms of fish include more significant quantities of purines, which may worsen gout because they increase uric acid levels. Purines are present in fish flesh but not in highly pure, distilled fish oil.
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids from fish have been associated with a lower frequency of gout attacks. In a recent research survey, patients with gout who consumed omega-3 and reduced their diet of high fructose corn syrup, organ meat, alcohol, and shellfish, which are known to elevate uric acid levels, had a decreased incidence of repeated gout flares.
To improve heart health and uric acid levels, experts often prescribe omega-3 fatty acids, which are contained in fish oil supplements. They are highly beneficial to those suffering from gout since they decrease inflammation. In addition, it is recommended that patients must consume at least 2,000 milligrams (mg) of EPA and DHA each day (two fatty acids in fish oil crucial to human health).
