Meditate
Meditation is generally good for health. Although it doesn’t directly treat flu and other illnesses, it positively affects other areas, which can help prevent various health conditions, including flu. When you meditate, the cortisol level decreases. It’s the hormone that causes stress. If your stress level is high, it will be difficult for your body to recuperate. It makes it harder for the system to fight infection and other health conditions. Since it weakens the immune system, it’s also easier to catch the flu and other health problems. Meditation is an effective way to eliminate stress.
It also lowers the C-reactive protein concentration, which causes inflammation. The influenza virus causes inflammation, which results in pain. There are different meditation techniques, but if you are a beginner, you can start with the easy one. Since you are just beginning, you can do it for about 5 to 10 minutes. First, sit on the floor comfortably. Next, you can kneel or cross your legs, whichever is most comfortable for you. Then, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. If your mind gets distracted, get your attention back to your breathing. Slowly open your eyes when the time is up.
