Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds are a common ingredient in Indian cuisine. It is similar to clover and has a taste comparable to maple syrup. This product of an annual semi-arid crop is also used as medicine, especially in the traditional treatment of diabetes, enlarged prostate, menstrual cramps, and high cholesterol levels.
The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of Fenugreek seeds make it a good home treatment option for cellulitis. In addition, a 2019 study published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention shows strong Fenugreek seed extract capabilities in suppressing bacteria and cancer growth. It is particularly effective against the Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, which are among the microorganismal species that cause cellulitis.
To use fenugreek seeds for cellulitis treatment, soak a handful of seeds in a bowl of water overnight. The softened seeds are then ground into a paste. This paste can be used as a DIY topical treatment on the skin areas affected by cellulitis. The paste should sit on the skin for an hour or two.
Once the treatment is done, the paste is removed with warm water. It may also be wiped away with a damp towel. This treatment can be done once or twice daily.
