Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is renowned for its potent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties. As a result, it is widely used as a powerful source for many medicinal uses. The good thing about tea tree oil is not poisonous and gentle to the skin—which makes it an effective natural remedy for skin problems, such as boils.
Due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, tea tree oil can kill boil-causing bacteria and rid the infected skin of redness and swelling. In addition, its antiseptic property helps disinfect the affected area to prevent bacteria from multiplying and spreading to more vulnerable body parts.
To apply tea tree oil to infected skin, mix it with coconut or olive oil. It’s not recommended to use tea tree oil directly on the skin because of its potency. Doing so may have a burning effect on the skin. Instead, five drops of tea tree oil to a teaspoon of coconut (or olive) oil should do the trick. Use cotton buds to apply the diluted tea tree oil and let it seep on the boil. Do it two to three times daily until the spot is completely healed.
