Epsom Salt
Epsom salt or magnesium sulfate paste is a natural and old-fashion remedy for skin infections such as boils and abscesses. It has antibacterial properties that gently absorb the skin and slowly draw out the pus. As a result, it will help burst the boil effectively without scarring the skin within a given time. In addition, Epsom salt is a good way of dealing with bumps that are not as painful and even offers a soothing feeling.
There are two ways to apply Epsom salt on boils: a bath solution and a paste. First, mix Epsom salt in warm water and soak in it for a couple of minutes until the water cools. While bathing, cleanse the boil and gently rub the affected area until a soothing sensation takes effect. Use clean towels and dry the skin afterward.
Another way of using Epsom salt is by applying it directly to the boil as a paste. Magnesium sulfate paste is an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent that reduces the swelling around the infected skin. Apply liberally and repeat twice or thrice daily. Results are expected after two or three days and beyond. After that, continue to use medication as necessary.
