14 Effective Boils Home Remedies You Should Try

Neem Oil

Neem oil, an organic pesticide, is extracted from neem trees when seeds are crushed. It’s a potent source of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties that can be used in treating boils. It’s also an excellent antimicrobial ointment to prevent bumps from spreading. However, neem oil potency is very high, so applying directly to the skin is not recommended without adequately regulating the amount. Unregulated neem oil can cause a burning sensation and may slightly damage the epidermis.

To apply neem oil for boils safely, do the following: mix tiny drops of neem oil with water or liquid soap and try it on the skin (this is important to avoid allergic reactions and skin irritations). Applying directly on the boil should be safe if irritation does not occur. Frequently putting neem oil (at least twice or thrice daily) is necessary for the best results.

Important reminder: Neem oil is potentially harmful to humans when ingested. Therefore, it is only applicable as a topical treatment and not for internal use because it’s poisonous (especially for children). Keep neem oil refrigerated, and don’t let it within reach of children.
