14 Effective Boils Home Remedies You Should Try

Castor Oil

Castor oil is one of the oldest used skin-treating ointments, proven effective over the years. The ricinoleic acid in castor oil, regulated with the right amount, is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent that helps treat swelling on the skin caused by a boil.

Boils are inflamed skin caused by bacteria that must be flushed out. Castor oil can help reduce inflammation and shrink the boil’s size until it finally heals. Here are some ways to apply castor oil for boils:

Use a cotton ball saturated with a few drops of castor oil for topical treatment. Apply gently on the skin or dab cotton on the infected area and put a bandage. Let it sit for more than five hours or overnight for the best results. Do this daily until significant changes in the swelling manifest.

For hot compress, pour a few drops of castor oil into boiling water. Please wait a few minutes until the water warms a bit before applying it to the skin to avoid scalding. Repeat compresses twice daily.
