Green Tea Soak
Green tea is from the Camellia sinensis plant and is processed through steaming and pan-frying the leaves. This makes the green tea non-fermented and preserves the polyphenols and caffeine, which according to recent studies, are among the compounds responsible for the many benefits of green tea.
Green tea also contains catechins such as epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), natural antioxidants that prevent cellular damage and free radicals from affecting the body. As a result, people who live with mild to severe cases of athlete’s foot can feel better after a green tea foot soak. They can prepare the green tea foot soak by steeping four to five bags according to package instructions and then let the mixture cool down sufficiently so they can soak their feet for 10 to 20 minutes. After the soak, they must dry their feet using a clean towel and apply other topical agents for additional protection. Conversely, they can wear a fresh pair of cotton socks after a foot soak to prevent bacteria and fungi from latching onto the feet. Wellness experts recommend using the foot soak for a week or two until the itchiness, scaling, and dryness subside.
