Regular Physical Activities
It comes as no surprise that exercise is on this list. Physical activities can be beneficial in almost anything, from doing daily tasks efficiently and effectively to keeping a healthy lifestyle. While no studies state that exercise and acne have an inverse correlation, exercise helps keep bodily functions in top shape. One of those functions is possibly improving acne.
Exercise has proven to control and regulate hormones. Besides this, keeping fit is known to help reverse the effects of anxiety and stress that are also known contributors to the progression of acne.
For adults, it is recommended to exercise for a total of two hours and thirty minutes every week, using two forms of physical activity to get the most benefits. Some examples include activities such as walking, running, hiking, biking, or even lifting weights.
When exercising outside, apply sunscreen to protect the skin from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. The sunscreen must be at least SPF 30 to ensure the skin is well protected against the sun.
