12 Home Remedies For Acne: The Natural Treatment List

Honey and Cinnamon Masks

P. acnes, or Propionibacterium acnes, is a type of bacteria associated with the growth and development of acne on the skin. A study suggests that a blend of cinnamon bark extract and honey has bacterial effects against P. acnes.

A newer study suggests that using honey by itself can prevent or kill the advancement of the bacteria, granting that there were no findings linked to honey being able to treat acne. Another research found that after using antibacterial soap, applying honey had no additional benefits when treating acne compared to using only antibacterial soap. Despite the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial claims of honey and cinnamon to help control the effects of acne, there is still much research needed before coming to any conclusions.

To create a mask using honey and cinnamon, combine two full tablespoons of honey and one full teaspoon until a paste is formed. Use the paste as a facial mask and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, rinse off the mask with water and pat the face dry.
