12 Home Remedies For Acne: The Natural Treatment List

Tea Tree Oil

The Melaleuca alternifolia is a tree indigenous to Australia. Famously, the leaves of this tree produce an essential oil called tea tree oil. Data from studies show that using tea tree oil has the potential to reduce acne. Moreover, when put side by side against benzoyl peroxide, participants report a smaller amount of dry skin and irritation or inflammation.

Because tea tree oil is powerful, using a lot of products would not be necessary, it is even recommended to dilute the solution before applying it to the skin. This oil is natural and can even be left on the skin overnight. However, even with all these seemingly beneficial claims, tea tree oils are still not approved by the FDA, so when using this product, proceed with caution.

To create tea tree oil at home, mix a ratio of 1:9, with one part being tea tree oil and the other nine parts being water. Next, apply the mixture to the affected areas after submerging a cotton bud into the tea tree oil. After that, applying moisturizer is encouraged, although still optional. Do this process once or twice a day or as seen fit.
